Dutch Motel Shartlesville

I would not send anyone there.

To get to this hotel you travel down a road that you would never want to be alone on. The street sign was only seen from one direction! The outside had old mattress's leaning on the building, trash over flowing, everything was falling apart and very old. The office was open to a home that stunk and was dirty. The rooms were so cold we had to turn down the blankets in the middle of the day and turn the heat on full blast. We never got warm or had hot water. The floors were just so gross, dirt upon dirt. Mirrors were dusty and smudged with greese. The toilet tissue was like paper towels. The towels were right from the cheap bolt and never washed. The sheets were the same. I would gladly stay at the Dutch Motel in Shartlesville again. It was conveniently located near highway 78. The staff at the front desk was helpful and pleasant and even gave myself and my fiance a cold bottle of water to take to our rooms, a nice touch on a hot day. Don't let the initial appearances of the motel concern you as the room was surprising well-kept and looked recently renovated, as did the bathroom. For an inexpensive stay in a more remote part of PA, the Dutch Motel is a solid place for a person on a budget.
